Custom Automotive Controller Housings & Integrated Connector Headers

Modern vehicles run on dozens of electronic control units. A body control module, a telematics box, a power window module and a seat control module may sit a few centimetres apart in the same door or under the same dash - yet each one needs its own enclosure, its own connector interface, and its own sealing concept.

Most suppliers solve only half of that equation: either they mould the plastic housing, or they make the connector. We do both, and we engineer them as one assembly. That is the difference between a housing that fits your header and a housing that was developed together with it.

One partner for housing + header

Tianwan Electronics is the export arm of our own factory, Henan Jinhua Electric Co., Ltd. - an IATF 16949 certified plant in Hebi, Henan with 13,000 m² of floor space, 22 patents and in-house mould building. Injection moulding and connector stamping/assembly happen under the same roof, which means:

• No tolerance guesswork. Upper cover, main body, lower cover and the pin header are dimensioned together, so the first assembly fits the last one.
• One accountable supplier. No more "the housing supplier says it is the connector's fault".
• Shorter development. Mould design, tooling and trial shots run in parallel with terminal and header selection.
• One quality file. Dimension reports and PPAP documentation for the whole assembly, not two half-sets.

Applications we build for

Waterproof controller housing with sealed connector interfaces and harness assembly

Example parts in our current range include JHA00370 stepper machine housing, the JHA00415 + JHA00416 upper cover and main body set (mating 14P, 23P, 35P and 48P headers), and JHA00181 upper cover for a 28-pin connector assembly. On the connector side, headers such as JHB00350 (24-pin) and JHB00111 (64-pin) are produced in the same plant.

• Materials: PA6 GF, PA66 GF, PBT GF30, ABS/PC - all available UL-94 V0
• Temperature range: -40 °C to +125 °C standard; compounds for under-hood available on request
• Processes: in-house injection mould design and build, ultrasonic welding, sealing concepts for splash and IP-rated applications
• Quality system: IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 certified; CE and RoHS; PPAP and full dimension reports on request
• Factory audit: welcome - buyers are invited to inspect the plant in Henan or meet our sales team in Shenzhen

From your drawing to production

1. Send the drawing or a sample. 3D (STEP/IGES) or even a physical part is enough to start.
2. DFM feedback within 24 hours. Our engineers flag wall thickness, draft, gate position and header interface risks before you commit.
3. Mould development: 20-35 days. Tooling built in-house, then T1 samples.
4. Sample approval. Dimension report and assembly trial with the mating header.
5. Production: 15-25 days after order confirmation. MOQ is flexible - small trial runs are welcome.

FAQ

Q: Can you develop a housing if I only have a sample part?
A: Yes. Send the sample and we will 3D-scan or reverse-measure it, then quote tooling. Many of our custom enclosures started this way.

Q: Can you supply the housing and the connector header as one part number?
A: Yes - that is our standard practice for integrated projects. You get one BOM line, one quality file and one responsible supplier.

Q: What is the MOQ for a custom moulded housing?
A: There is no fixed MOQ. For custom tooling we amortise the mould across the order, so tell us your annual volume and we will propose a fair first-batch quantity.

Q: Do you support PPAP submission?
A: Yes. PPAP, dimension reports and material certificates can be provided for automotive projects.
